Closing Ceremony and Departure

The final day of STAR EQUITY 2026 took place on Friday, 1 May 2026, and served as a warm farewell for all participants, committee members, and accompanying staff from the three universities who had journeyed together for five days.

Activities commenced with committee preparations from 9:30–10:00 a.m. at Hotel Maxone, followed by participant registration from 10:00–10:15 a.m. From 10:15–11:10 a.m., the convoy travelled by bus to the Grand Mosque of Surabaya (Masjid Agung Surabaya). From 11:10 a.m.–1:00 p.m., committee members and all participants attended the Friday Prayer (Salat Jumat) at Masjid Agung Surabaya. This communal prayer was a spiritually meaningful experience, particularly for the international delegation from Malaysia.
After the prayer, the convoy continued by bus to Juanda International Airport, Surabaya, from 1:00–1:40 p.m. At the airport, the Official Closing Ceremony of STAR EQUITY 2026 was held from

1:40–2:00 p.m., concluding with a collective prayer and a final documentation session as a memento for all participants, committee members, and accompanying staff.
With the conclusion of STAR EQUITY 2026, the Undergraduate Statistics Study Programme of Universitas Airlangga successfully organised a meaningful international collaboration event. Over five days, students from Indonesia, Malaysia (UKM and UPM) forged bonds of friendship, exchanged knowledge, shared cultures, and together explored the role of statistics in realising equity and sustainability—in keeping with the overarching theme: “Statistics Activity with International Partnership Built Impactful Equity”.
