Tourism Village Visit in Batu City
Day four of STAR EQUITY 2026 brought all participants to Batu City, East Java, to experience nature tourism, a visit to a tourism village, and engagement with local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Preparations began in the early hours from 5:00–6:00 a.m. at Hotel Maxone Surabaya. Participants registered from 6:00–6:10 a.m., and the convoy departed by bus at 6:10 a.m.
En route to Batu, the group stopped for a communal breakfast—involving committee members, participants, and accompanying lecturers—at Rest Area 754 A1 from 7:00–7:30 a.m., before continuing the journey from 7:30–9:00 a.m. until arriving at the Selecta tourism area.
Participants arrived and were briefed at Selecta from 9:00–9:15 a.m. The event was formally opened from 9:15–9:45 a.m. with welcome addresses from the Batu City Tourism Agency, Pak Toha, Pak Fariz, Prof. Hamizah, and Dr. Hakim, facilitated by MCs Ailsa and Aji. This was followed by a presentation by Selecta on the management of the existing tourist destination (9:45–9:55 a.m.), and a presentation by the Batu City Tourism Agency on the tourism potential of Tulungrejo Village (9:55–10:05 a.m.).
From 10:05–10:35 a.m., participants were divided into groups to carry out a clean-up activity, collecting rubbish around the Selecta area. This activity served as a tangible expression of environmental awareness and the academic community’s contribution to sustainable tourism, in line with the SDGs values that form the spirit of STAR EQUITY 2026.
Participants then enjoyed Tourism Activity Session 1 in the Selecta area from 10:35 a.m.–12:55 p.m., followed by ISHOMA—rest, the Dhuhr prayer, and lunch—from 12:55–1:25 p.m. After participant briefing from 1:25–1:40 p.m., the group departed for Wisata Dusun Kuliner (WDK) by bus from 1:40–1:55 p.m., arriving and being briefed at WDK from 1:55–2:05 p.m.
From 2:05–4:05 p.m., participants engaged in a combined tourism and MSME branding activity. Each group was tasked with exploring local culinary MSMEs in the WDK area and creating promotional food videos or vlogs to be uploaded to social media. This creative activity generated tangible impact for local micro-entrepreneurs while developing participants’ digital communication skills.
After the Asr prayer from 4:05–4:25 p.m., participants were briefed for the journey to the restaurant from 4:25–4:40 p.m. The convoy arrived at HC Putra Restaurant at 5:05 p.m. for dinner and the Maghrib prayer together until 6:05 p.m. Following a participant briefing, the convoy departed back to Surabaya from 6:15–8:15 p.m., bringing a close to an energetic and meaningful fourth day.
