UNAIR PPDB Community Service Encourages the Progress of MSMEs and Tourism in Kare Village

Madiun, 06 July 2024 – The Assisted Village Development Program (PPDB) Team of the Universitas Airlangga Statistics Study Program successfully carried out Community Service activities in Kare Village, Kare District, Madiun Regency. The aim of the activity carried out on July 6 2024 is to strengthen the Kare Madiun area as a tourist village so that tourism in Kare Village can become superior tourism, better known to many people and have superior MSME products to support the improvement of the community’s economy based on local potential.

The event began with remarks from the Head of Kare Village, PPDB Coordinator, namely Dr. M. Fariz Fadillah Mardianto, S.Si., M.Sc. as well as the Madiun Regency Tourism and Sports Department. Then, the material delivery session with the theme “Synergy between Tourism Actors and MSMEs through Literacy Improvement Activities and the Application of Digital Technology to Strengthen the Kare Madiun Area as a Tourist Village” was delivered by the lecturer at the D4 Tourism Destination Study Program, namely Dr. Sri Endah Nurhidayati, S.Sos., M.Si. which explains various strategies in the management and promotion of Tourism Villages and MSME products to make them more attractive. This material delivery session was attended by tourism cadres, homestay owners, MSME players, as well as the Kare Village youth group.

After the material delivery session, a talk show session was held which was divided into several sessions which were held in parallel. Parallel Session 1 was held in the Kare Village Office Hall with the material “MSME Marketing Techniques Through Social Media and E-Commerce” delivered by Dr. M. Fariz Fadillah Mardianto, S.Si., M.Sc. who was accompanied by Adnan Syawal Adilaha Sadikin together with Bank Jatim who was attended by MSME actors from Kare Village. Parallel Session 2 was held in the Kare Village Office Hall, which was attended by the Karang Taruna and Pokdarwis of Kare Village with the material “Review of Websites Supporting Tourism Villages and Their Development” by Andra Hervan Putra, B.Sc. as a representative of the Madiun Regency Diskominfo, followed by the presentation of a Dashboard example by Galuh Cahya Nugraha as a supporter of the Tourism Village Website. Parallel Session 3 was held at the Nirwana Wilis Homestay with the material “Management Techniques, Operational Standards and Homestay Services in Tourist Villages” by Prof. Dian Yulie Reindrawati, S.Sos., M.M., Ph.D, CHE, who was attended by the Kare Village homestay operator. The end of the parallel session ended with the presentation of souvenirs to the presenters, followed by a group photo.
