The Unair Statistics Community Service Team Follows Up on a Program in Kare Village, Encouraging Website Development and Homestay SOPs to Increase the Competitiveness of MSMEs and Local Tourism

Madiun, 11st October 2025 – The Community Service Team of the Statistics Study Program, Airlangga University, held a follow-up community service activity at the Kare Village Office, Kare District, Madiun Regency, on Saturday (11/10/2025) from 11:00–12:30 WIB. The activity was attended by village officials, MSMEs, tourism and homestay managers, as well as students and lecturers from the Unair Statistics Study Program.

This activity is part of a series of ongoing community service programs in Kare Village, with a primary focus on developing the potential of digital-based tourism villages to strengthen the Kare tourism village. On this occasion, the community service team presented the progress of the activities carried out, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Homestays and a Policy Brief entitled “From Accommodation to Experience: Strategies for Improving the Quality and Competitiveness of Homestays in Kare Tourism Village,” which was developed as a strategic guide for homestay managers in improving services and promoting village tourism.

The team also introduced the results of the official Kare Village website, which serves as an information platform, tourism promotion platform, and digital marketing platform for local MSME products. This website is expected to expand the village’s promotional reach and strengthen Kare Village’s brand as a leading tourist destination in Madiun Regency.

As a form of support for the local creative economy, the event concluded with an explanation and handover of a coffee grinding machine called the “Eco-Grinder Kaffe” to the village. This machine is expected to increase production efficiency and add value to Kare Village’s specialty coffee products.

With this activity, it is hoped that Kare Village will be increasingly prepared to compete as a digital technology-based tourism village and will be able to optimize its local economic potential independently and sustainably.
