Batu, 18-19th April, 2025 – Statistics Study Program of Airlangga University held an ANOVA activity to commemorate the 14th anniversary of Statistics of Airlangga University and the 9th anniversary of HIMASTA of Airlangga University. This activity was held at Villa Jasmine, Batu and was attended by UNAIR Statistics students and lecturers.
This activity lasted for 2 days, namely on April 18 and 19, 2025.
18th April was the main day in this series of events. On that day, a talk show session was held which presented two inspiring speakers, namely Mrs. Elly Pusporani who is a lecturer at Statistics UNAIR and Achmad Wahyu Ramadhan as a Statistics student from the 2022 batch and a recipient of the BI gen scholarship.
The talk show session which raised the theme “Building Self-Belief and Overcoming Doubt” was one of the most memorable moments. The personal experiences shared by the speakers were very relevant and inspiring, especially for students who are in the process of finding their identity and building self-confidence during college. Then continued with an art performance from students of the class of 2024 who performed a drama performance, as well as a song offering from students of the class of 2023.
In the evening, from 19:00 to 20:00 WIB, the event continued with a core session which took place in the main hall. This activity was opened by remarks from the Chief Executive, Head of HIMASTA, Mr. Idrus Syahzaqi as the Supervisor of HIMASTA, and Mr. Sediono as the Head of Statistics Study Program UNAIR. In their remarks, they expressed their pride and hope that the Statistics Study Program and HIMASTA would progress further in the future.
The atmosphere that night was very lively. As a symbol of the birthday celebration, a cake was cut together and did not forget to pray together so that the Statistics Study Program and HIMASTA UNAIR could develop better. This session was the most awaited moment. The villa hall was filled with loud applause, and happy smiles radiated from students and lecturers.
The evening event was closed with performances from lecturers, the Victoric group and student representatives. After that, all participants returned to their respective villas to rest and prepare themselves for the series of events the next morning.
The next day, April 19, students and lecturers carried out joint exercise and games. In addition to aiming to maintain a healthy lifestyle, this activity was also designed to strengthen relationships between friends and lecturers. This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3, namely ensuring a healthy life and supporting well-being for all at all ages.
In the games session, students were divided into several groups consisting of classmates and seniors. The games prepared by the committee emphasized the importance of solidarity and teamwork from all members. This activity was closed with the distribution of prizes to the winning groups.
