Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, conducted a Community Service\u00a0 activity at Shafta Islamic High School, Surabaya, on s5th April 2025, and 9th May 2025. This activity was designed to equip students with an understanding of the transition from high school to college and the world of work, while simultaneously fostering a scientific mindset and readiness to face academic and professional challenges.<\/p>\n<p>During the 25th April 2025 activities, students were introduced to the differences in learning characteristics in high school, college, and the world of work, which demand independence, personal responsibility, and adaptability. The material also emphasized strengthening soft skills such as time management, critical and analytical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork. Furthermore, students were equipped with an understanding of publishing written works, both scientific and popular, as a means of conveying ideas ethically, objectively, and responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>A follow-up activity on 9th May 2025, focused on strategies for systematically writing scientific and innovative papers, starting from compiling a data-based background, explaining the problem and its urgency, to formulating methods, results, and conclusions. Students are also guided to understand the importance of originality and the opportunities for copyright protection as a form of appreciation for their ideas and innovations, enabling them to build an academic portfolio from an early age.<\/p>\n<p>This Community Service activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening academic literacy and soft skills; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through encouraging innovative writing and intellectual property protection; and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through providing skills relevant to the world of work. Through this activity, the Statistics Study Program at Faculty of Science and Technology Unair hopes to contribute to preparing a competitive young generation oriented towards sustainable
